Green Local Schools in Smithville, Ohio welcomed students to the new K-12 building at the start of the 2014-2015 school year. The new building combines the previously separated buildings into one 151,000 square-foot space with multi-functional spaces including the new cafetorium that will be utilized for lunch periods, drama performances, assemblies, and more.

FEC worked with Sōl Harris/Day Architecture and McTech Corporation to provide packages for the following bid sections:

Stevens Industries Casework fulfilled the manufactured plastic laminate casework section with a combination of Fusion Maple and Monticello Maple finishes throughout the new building with chrome hinges and chrome bentwire pulls. Forty-five typical classrooms throughout the building house Stevens casework as well as special education rooms, work prep areas, art rooms, science labs, a theatrical control room, and administrative areas. The classrooms may be typical, but each one has its own feel with custom colors utilized in the interiors of the student cubby storage units. Stevens millwork was also utilized to construct the media center and administrative welcome desks in Monticello maple with chrome hardware. Wenger music storage units compliment the casework in the instrumental room and fulfills the music specialties section.

CampbellRhea fulfilled both the lab casework section and the fume hood section with the wedge shaped science lab tables, instructor’s desks, open frame tables, and wall storage casework throughout the 7 science labs.

Hussey Seating Company fulfills the telescoping bleachers section with two banks of 6-tier bleachers. Net seating of 297 in legend green with ADA flex row seating options were included.
