Project Overview
Zanesville City Schools has worked with Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) for over a decade, for inspections, upgrades, repairs and more for the district’s equipment. As the district continued to evolve and grow, an opportunity presented itself to construct a new multi-purpose building for the growing district. The new building would be a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) and include space for an auditorium, classrooms, and an athletic field on artificial turf to serve as an additional gymnasium. Summit Construction handled the management of the project, while Garmann Miller Architects was enlisted for the designs. As the project unfolded, FEC was thrilled to receive contract awards for multiple scopes of work on the project. Substantial completion took place in the Spring of 2025, with nothing but positive remarks for how FEC handled its scope of work.
Both Summit Construction and Garmann Miller Architects have extensive work with FEC, providing a smooth operation from start to finish with high-end products being delivered and installed to Zanesville City School’s doors.
Key Project Features
1. Educational Casework: Stevens Industries, Inc.
The project features new Stevens Advantage casework throughout the new multi-purpose building at Zanesville City Schools. Among the features of the casework are:
- Limber Maple Finishes alongside cabinet drawers, edges and interiors
- Oiled Soapstone countertop, backsplash, and endsplash colors
- Solid Surface countertops in Grey Beola
- Installed in lab classrooms and gymnasium areas
2. Fixed Auditorium Seating: Hussey Seating Company
As is the case in many school facilities, FEC delivered and installed auditorium seating from Hussey Seating Company. Some of the key features of the seating include:
- Six sections of seating
- 300 Quattro Seats
- Soft Square Backs with “Coal” fabric on seats
- Traditional steel stanchions
- Seat numbers and row letters
- Wood veneer end panels with a Grass Wood finish
3. Athletic Equipment: Gared Performance Sports Systems
Perhaps the most notable features of this multi-purpose building is the athletic equipment installed, which includes:
- Wall Padding
- Fold Up Divider Curtains
- Peak Fold Divider Curtains
- (2) Multi-Purpose Batting Cages
