In 2019, Wayne Trace Local Schools realized their gymnasium was in need of a facelift. They requested a site visit from Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) to offer assistance on what options existed for installing new seating. Eventually in 2022, FEC’s in-house installation crew installed and delivered these new bleachers.

This gymnasium is quite large, including four separate banks of Hussey Seating Company (HSC) Maxam bleachers. Two of the banks are located on upper-level mezzanines for a great view of the action on the court. In total, the new bleachers provide over 2,000 seats for spectators. The seating banks in the mezzanine are designed with reverse fold, delay action, with rear rails and a real panel. When the banks are closed, space is recovered behind the banks for other athletic or classroom activities. Rather than a traditional look, the school chose multiple Courtside seats in red and blue to match school colors. Using the signature logo option from HSC, the bleachers spell out “WT” on the two main court-level banks.

These new bleachers feature auto-rotating aisle rails, safety end rails, safety end closure curtains with custom school logos, and a large semi-permanent media platform.
This project included ADA wheelchair spaces through flex-row seating, providing high-end solutions for this large gymnasium. As a result, the final outcome thrilled the school.

FEC delivered this project through a customized approach. From several conversations with the customer, FEC determined precisely what the customer was looking for. With a high-quality product from Hussey Seating Company and a knowledgeable team within the states of Ohio and Michigan, this project highlights FEC’s great resources for the gymnasium space market.
