Throughout the K-12 landscape, there has been an increase in the construction of Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings. As such, these types of projects require a certain level of flexibility for those working on them. In Farnham Equipment Company’s case, this was exemplified as we worked to assist Portage County on their new Operations Center.

Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) requires extra coordination when it comes to overhead athletic equipment.  Due to the wide spans between beams, the support structure for goals and curtains needs to be part of the PEMB design.  This requires an experienced partner that can provide design solutions early in the building process well before PEMB erection.

We worked alongside Hummel Construction to provide and install the Basketball Backstops, a gym divider curtain and seven column pads, courtesy of Performance Sports Systems. This complimented a five-tier wall-attached bleacher from Hussey Seating Company that Farnham Equipment Company installed.

Together, this provided a great multi-purpose activity center for Portage County as they get ready to open their doors shortly.
